Wish 2012 apocalypse does indeed happen
Off late each morning has been somewhat of a nightmare continued from a perfect dreamy sleep. In fact, it feels so much better to be asleep than wake up to this ridiculous nightmare of a world. Closer home, each day begins with a string of bad news, and how?
What's going on in India these days? The newspapers bring about a string of bad bad news that gets worse by each passing day. Someone wants to forcefully teach marathi to a bunch of middle-aged taxi guys in 40 days, some minister wants to bring in a genetically modified brinjal into our kitchens, news and entertainment channels go on supporting commercialism to the ends of the world. From reality shows that show Indian women to be essentially either scheming or weak sobbing nymphs, to others that show how your partner is screwing around behind your back (obviously) to sports people being chased over how many skirts they chased and laid, India, and the world, is becoming a statistic of numbers - of deaths, of perversion, of supposed immorality, of harsh opinions, of radically aggressive policies, of marginalization, of deprivation, of greed, of selfishness, of commercial craving to the extent of forgetting one's self.
The list goes on and on. Add to it, the egoistic management that sits atop the country's ivory towers, watching the masses writhe and trample each other, as the carrot of "success and fame and popularity" goes on to be dangled in front of their mouths, while the ravenous freaks below snap at each other, tearing flesh from flesh, murdering whatever little honesty they possess - forgetting that they were born men and women of utmost purity and character, once upon a time.
It's saddening to see that those who say they've grown have only just become smaller with each passing day. We want what's on the other guy's table, we want what's outside of our reach, and this is sometimes falsely labelled ambition.
I have no problems with success and chasing one's ambition. But how aggressively can we chase our pseudo-dreams? In the race to be bigger, faster, stronger, more oppressive, not everyone realizes that it;s the spirit that shrinks inch by inch until one day there's a wake-up call and you realize that all of this just didn't matter. When there are no friends, no lovers, no one to hold your head and give you a last sip of water before you close your eyes and go back to wherever you came from.
2010 started with a bang. And for all the 2012 skeptics, i would like to say just read between the lines of what's happening NOW. Because the apocalypse doesn't come down at once. Shiva, Yama and Our lord the saviour won't appear to collectively destroy what they made. They are here amongst us - in the Haiti quake, in the plane crashes, in the train crashes, in the genetic brinjal that will come whether we like it or not, in the newest bomb thats being built somewhere in the world. I hate when people say disasters have opened their eyes to what's important in life. For them, i have 5 words - fuck you and your forgetfulness. It's human alright to forget the bad, but what's important is to keep the lessons learnt for a lifetime. But sadly enough, no one remembers, or calls the few who touch this little knowledge with their solar plexus, crazy! Nature is giving us all the signs right here, right now. And wish she'd just take away all that she has given us, when the purported date arrives. We are not worthy of this. And some of us who are, have to pay for someone's sins. That's a small price for having enjoyed so much here. So long, and thanks for all the fish!
